Teeing off at Swaffham in memory of Daniel, 24
Applications are open to take part in a charity golf day at Swaffham in memory of a 24-year-old who died in April.
Narborough Cricket Club are hosting a golf day on Friday, April 24 to raise funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice.
The event is in memory of Daniel Walker who died at the age of 24.
A family obituary described Daniel as a “loving son to Kay and Clive” and “adored brother to Hannah and Dillon” who will be “greatly missed by all his grandparents and family”.
Organiser Jack Crisp, who plays cricket with Dillon, said: “I grew up with the young lad (Daniel). He was in a wheelchair since birth and used to come over to watch the cricket with his Dad, the same for the football.
“He loved his sport. In conjunction with EACH, we wanted to hold this golf event with all donations going to the charity.
“I am quite a keen golfer and we (the cricket club) have been talking about doing it for two to three years, and Daniel has spurred us on even more to organise it.”
The event will take place at Swaffham Golf Course with an entry fee costing £160 per team of four.
This includes a bacon roll, coffee, 18 holes and a meal after a presentation.
Those wishing to enter or sponsor the event should contact Jack Crisp on 07887537113 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
