Snettisham teenage motorcyclist Aiden Bailey died in A149 crash with Range Rover, inquest hears




A teenager who died in a crash on the A149 has been named, as an inquest has opened into his death.

Aiden Bailey, 18, was riding a motorbike when he was involved in a crash with a car on the A149 at Snettisham on Sunday, August 6.

The inquest, which was opened at Norfolk Coroner’s Court this morning, was told that Aiden was a baker who lived in Snettisham.

Senior coroner for Norfolk Jacqueline Lake said the medical cause of his death had been given by histopathologist Dr Ray Lonsdale as multiple injuries caused by a road traffic collision.

The inquest was adjourned for a pre-inquest review on February 6, 2024.

Police have appealed for information following the collision, which happened at around 5.10pm.

Officers said two motorcyclists had been travelling together towards Hunstanton on the A149 near Snettisham roundabout, when one of the motorbikes – an orange Honda – crossed the carriageway and collided with a black Range Rover travelling in the opposite direction, towards Snettisham.

The 18-year-old motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, the manner of driving beforehand or who has dash-cam footage to come forward.
