Two teenagers charged in connection with arson attack which destroyed Swaffham couple’s home
Two teenagers have been charged in connection with an arson attack which resulted in a couple’s home being ravaged by flames.
On June 30 last year, a burning car was crashed into the property on Lancaster Road, Swaffham.
Smoke tore through the interior, leaving several rooms burnt almost beyond recognition.
Firefighters were quick to attend the scene and extinguish the fire, and nobody was injured - although the couple who own it were forced to move into a hotel while repairs were carried out.
Shocking footage highlighted the extent of the blaze.
Now, one teenager has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, reckless arson, driving a car while unfit through drugs, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.
The other has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking and reckless arson.
The boys, aged in their late teens, have been bailed to appear at Lynn Youth Court on February 28.
