Thousands raised at Hilgay charity book sale

A book sale in Hilgay has raised thousands for charity.

The event, which was held at the village hall on Sunday, made more than £4,100 for the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society.

Organiser Ali Dent said: "Thanks go to the MS Society helpers, a fantastic bunch of volunteers, Bearts of Stow Bridge, Terry Covell for transport and Lesley Dent who did a fantastic job of categorising all the books."

The day also saw a number of yard sales throughout the village, in aid of Hilgay Riverside Academy and Hilgay Parents and Toddlers Group.
