Downham Market Games off tomorrow after weather warning
The Downham Games have been called of tomorrow (Sunday) because of likey wet conditions.
The Met Office has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms for much of England, including all of Norfolk and East Anglia.
Thunderstorms developing over parts of England and Wales from early Sunday may cause travel disruption and, in a few places, flooding.
But there will be sunshine about too for most of the day in West Norfolk and temperatures should be in the low teens. There is only a 30 per cent chance of rain here at 1pm and later in the afternoon, so events may be lucky.
Among the events scheduled locally tomorrow are Sandringham Pageant of Motoring, a picnic at Hempton Green, and street parties in Brancaster and Windsor Road in Lynn.
A Facebook message from Downham Games organiser Frances Rayner today said: "In light of the Met Office weather warning tomorrow we have postponed the Games. We are sorry to have to announce this but we will be back with another date soon."
