Plans to build 14 new homes in Tilney St Lawrence have been approved by borough councillors.
Community leaders had objected to the application to develop the site at 27 Magdalen Road, arguing that too many homes were being proposed.
But members of the West Norfolk Council planning committee approved the scheme, subject to the completion of legal agreements relating to the provision of affordable housing being completed within three months, at a meeting yesterday.
Concerns were raised over the reluctance of Norfolk County Council to take responsibility for maintenance of a new road leading to the homes, because of drainage issues.
But committee member Martin Storey said developers Buildwise Limited should not be penalised by the county’s stance.
He said: “I feel there’s enough regulation in planning at the best of times and they have done things properly and correctly.”
