Planning a Christmas cracker of an office party in West Norfolk
It may be summer outside (allegedly) but it is never too early to start planning that office Christmas party, particularly as few of us had the pleasure of enjoying one last year.
Venues across West Norfolk have reported brisk early business as they gear up to open bookings so it may be a good idea to get in early.
Last year was a very different experience for many of us with social functions reduced to three people, keeping all the windows open in freezing conditions to keep the air circulating in a bid to avoid passing on Covid-19, with a relative who pulled the short straw eating brandy butter pudding outside in the garden to maintain social distancing.
If ever there was a Dickensian Christmas it was 2020.
Festive packages are being advertised in Lynn for organisers of the traditional works-do to respond to.
The Duke's Head seasonal functions at £25 per head includes a three-course dinner, a DJ and disco until late and reduced accommodation rates.

The festive package includes a resident DJ, welcome drink, 3 Course Festive Dinner, coffee and party box. and a Dance Through the Decades DJ will play music from the 60s to the present day. at £37 per person.
Arbuckles, in Downham, is pulling out all the corks with their party nights planned throughout December. Their three course crimbo menu includes a glass of Prosecco on arrival, plus starters including a classic prawn cocktail, steak, finished off with Christmas pudding ice cream sundae. Prices start at £27.50 for the Christmas menu.
Holkham Hall have a very special guest, an audience with the man himself, Father Christmas who with his elves are busy planning their festive frivolities to be enjoyed at the hall this year. Boutique Hotel Stratton's is the 'finest luxury boutique hotel based in Swaffham' and looks an amazing place to spend Christmas with their sumptuous rooms and equally the delicious menu. Prices for self catering start at £559 for three nights and booking early to avoid disappointment is essential.
The Hoste Arms, Burnham Market, is planning a very merry time with an extra dose of sprinkles this year. Their Christmas menu starts at £29 for two courses and £36 for three. With cured salmon, caviar and English Rose free range turkey on the menu it sounds delicious.
It really is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
