Best selling author Emma Healey was guest speaker at the Bookfest held at Briarfields Hotel in Titchwell on Sunday.
Her novel, Elizabeth is Missing won the Costa Award in February this year.
Emma, who is from Norwich, explained that the main character of the book had been based on her grandmother and she had carried out research into dementia and patterns of behaviour to help her write the detective story.
She told the audience of over 80 guests, that she had always wanted to be a writer, and in fact had the idea for the book when she was just 13.
She attended a creative writing course at the University of East Anglia, which gave her the confidence to continue with her writing. MLNF15PM04224
