Top feedback marks for ‘outstanding’ nursing home in Swaffham

A nursing home has received the highest possible praise from the public, based on feedback on an independent review website.

Meadow House, of Swaffham, has achieved a ‘10 out of 10’ score on independent review site carehome.co.uk, which provides rankings for care homes across the country based solely on what care home residents and their relatives have said.

The Norwich Road home is part of the Healthcare Homes Group and provides care for up to 38 people with a physical disability, specialising in care for people with neurological conditions.

Earlier this year, the home was named in the review website’s ‘Top 20’ care homes in the Eastern region, and now its score on the site has reached top ratings, based on reviews.

The independent website highlights the most recommended care homes from more than 1,750 listed in the eastern region.

Home manager Joanna Jankowska said: “Positive feedback from those we support, and from their loved ones, is always important to us.

“Right now, as we deliver care in the most challenging context we have ever faced, this is even more poignant for us.

“To receive the highest possible score is really quite humbling, but I’m proud to say it is a reflection of the passion and dedication my team has for our residents and our work.

“We will always do all we can to support and care for those who live at Meadow House and will strive to continue to be outstanding in all we do.”

A recent review on the independent site states: “The level of care in this very difficult time of Covid-19 has been top-notch.

“It has been so reassuring to know despite the very hard work of caring, the home continues to offer so much love and support. Thank you all so very much.”

Another comments: “This care home is exceptional on every level. The staff, from the highest to the lowest level, go above and beyond what they need to do.

“They are caring, compassionate and loving. My son adores them all…I never have to worry about his welfare. I know he is safe and loved.”

In May 2016 the home became the first care home in Norfolk to be rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.

This rating was maintained in the subsequent inspection in 2019.
