West Norfolk’s top five most expensive houses on the market revealed
Mansions, country homes and buildings old and new - we reveal the most expensive houses money can buy.
If your pockets go deep enough to fork out on an impressive West Norfolk property, you might want to have a look at one of these.
5. Narborough Hall - £3,250,000
Starting off the list is this Grade II-listed nine-bedroom, seven-bathroom home, in the valley of the River Nar.
Covered in wisteria, it comes with 79 acres of land as well as 18th-century fireplaces, elaborate ceilings and panelling.
Recently installed was a swimming pool, and the property also has a barn, two annexes, a floristry studio and multiple outbuildings.
It was built by the Spelman family with reused medieval stone back in 1528.
In the past, the site has hosted weddings, art exhibitions and open gardens with success.
Estate agents at Savills said: “The hall has the proven ability to derive an income, and remains in a position to do so with relative ease.”

4. Ingoldisthorpe Hall - £3,500,000
For £250,000 more, Savills is showcasing another historic building with nine bedrooms and six bathrooms.
This 10,400-square-foot home sits among 20 acres of land and offers views of the Wash.
Originally named Mount Amelia, the Grade II-listed country house dates back to 1745.
The buyer of this property will get a bonus four-bedroom home on-site named The Folly, which used to be the stables, grooms’ cottage and coach house.
However, it was converted into one dwelling in 2008.
At the centre of the main hall are family and drawing rooms, and in the wings sit a living room, two kitchens, a TV room and lots of space for storage.
There is also a wine cellar on the lower ground floor and a dining room for both formal and informal dinners.
On the upper floor are three staircases leading to the nine bedrooms, three of which have en-suite bathrooms.

3. Burcott, Millwood, Burnham Market - £3,500,000
In a private and peaceful location, this four-bedroom 1960s home has been in the same family for more than three decades.
Now, it has hit the market with Sowerbys.
A mature hawthorn hedge completely shields the property from others nearby.
It comes with its own woodland area, which agents say provides “the most magical place for grandchildren to make dens and play hide and seek in.”
The new owners of the property will have free rein over two acres of land, including an established orchard and lawns.
“Burcott is an absolute gem of a home,” Sowerbys said.
“Herrings Lane in Burnham Market is recognised as one of the best addresses in the entire county, but less well known, and even more exclusive, is Millwood - the private road that leads off Herrings Lane to the west.”
In addition to the extensive land and four bedrooms, there are three reception rooms and a driveway.

2. Long Meadow, Herrings Lane, Burnham Market - £3,750,000
Just a stone’s throw down the road and a quarter of a million pounds more expensive than number three, is this four-bedroom, four-bathroom, newer home.
Made of brick and flint, it was designed by an award-winning architect, Thomas Faire and built in 2013.
On the ground floor is an entrance hall, kitchen/diner, utility room, living room, games room, office and a bathroom.
The upper floor has a main en-suite bedroom as well as three larger en-suite double bedrooms.
Long Meadow has some interesting features, such as its own CCTV system as well as integrated water softeners and underfloor heating.
The main bedroom also has its own balcony with views of the countryside.
Estate agents at Jackson-Stops said that the home offers “modern luxury, timeless design, and tranquil countryside living”.
It highlighted the landscaped garden, which features a limestone-paved terrace that gets drenched in sunlight, creating an “ideal space for both relaxation and entertaining”.

1. Seabreeze, Gong Lane, Burnham Overy - £3,850,000
And finally, number one on our list, and West Norfolk’s most expensive property on the market, is a five-bedroom, four-bathroom home from Sowerbys.
This new build comes with half an acre of land and stretches across 4,600 square feet.
It was constructed by R.M. Smith, a family-owned business based in Burnham Market and Brancaster.
“It takes years of experience to create a property that, from the outside, appears beautiful yet subtle,” the agents said.
On the ground floor are two double bedroom suites as well as a utility room, boot room, and games room, which could be converted for a different use.
The home has an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room which measures at about 1,600 square feet.
Two more double bedrooms are on the upper floor, both with walk-in dressing rooms and en-suites, with the main one having its own roof terrace to take in the morning sun.
There is also a guest room which sits above the garage at the front of the house.
