Communities across West Norfolk have been taking part in a county-wide initiative this week to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.
Civic leaders, charity officials and local schoolchildren took part in a ceremony in Lynn’s Tower Gardens yesterday as the Royal British Legion’s Torch of Remembrance arrived in the borough.
The torch was taken to the Western Front this summer, as part of the Legion’s Great Pilgrimage 90 tour.
It was handed to the borough mayor, Nick Daubney, who in turn passed it to the mayor of Hunstanton, Amanda Bosworth, for the next leg of its journey up the coast.
A further stop was made in Feltwell this afternoon. The relay is due to be completed in Norwich on Sunday.
