Downham Market Town Council give £1,431 funding to the town’s Men’s Shed to fund a new dust extractor.

A charity that focuses on men’s mental health and well-being has received a grant to help purchase a new dust extractor.

Downham’s Men’s Shed, situated on Burnthouse Drove, aims to combat isolation among older men in the community.

The group has a workshop where members make an array of items, including bird boxes and other items made of wood.

At the council’s full meeting on Wednesday, councillors approved giving the group £1,431 funding to support the work they do.

Borough councillor Joshua Osbourne, who represents Downham Old Town Ward, also contributed £450 towards the project.

All councillors voted in favour of funding the dust extractor.
