The sterling efforts of all the community in Fakenham have been recognised with the presentation of a blue pandemic plaque.

The plaque is given for the support shown to each other by townsfolk during the past two years of lockdowns and restrictions.

The presentation to Fakenham's mayor Gilly Foortse was made by the deputy lieutenant of Norfolk, Holly Gold.

The pandemic plaques are the brainchild of the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, Lady Dannatt and have been handed out to councils, schools and organisations across the county, including a number in West Norfolk.

The plaques contain a quote from Norfolk Victorian pioneering social theorist Harriet Martineau which state: "Live your best, act your best and think your best today."
