Community leaders in Hunstanton have issued a call for ideas of how to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year.

Residents, traders and community organisations are being urged to come forward now with their suggestions.

And a special meeting has been scheduled for October 4 at 6pm to consider plans.

Town mayor Adrian Winnington said: “We are asking all community group organisers, business owners and residents to come along to the meeting or to get in touch and register their events, even if they are just general intentions at the moment.

“The information gathered will be used to map venues, share resources and ultimately put forward a coordinated programme of events covering each of the four days of the Jubilee celebrations.”

The town council plans to set up a special webpage for people to register their events and promote everything happening in the town during the extended jubilee bank holiday weekend.

Borough council officials are also expected to attend the October meeting and the town authority says it wants to work with them on the project.

The Platinum Jubilee celebrations are planned for June 2 to 5.
