Fakenham Toys and Tins Appeal supported by MP
Broadland MP Jerome Mayhew visited Fakenham to lend his support to the Salvation Army’s annual Toys and Tins Appeal launched earlier this week.
Mr Mayhew met Fakenham church leaders Captain Adrian Allen and Captain Gemma Allen.
He was shown what goes into the food parcels and how toys are sorted out for the children.
Last year, the Fakenham church gave over 500 toys and the organisation were delighted to have Mr Mayhew’s support.
Adrian said: "I sent messages to anyone I know who can act as a referral for vulnerable families to try and reach as many as possible.
"It was lovely to get a response from Jerome’s team, and thanks to them for being so accommodating.
"We are grateful that businesses are supporting our campaign locally, and we have JustGiving, and Amazon Wish Lists available for those who wish to contribute electronically.
"We look forward to working with Jerome and our other agencies ensuring God’s love shines through this Christmas."
Mr Mayhew said: "Adrian and Gemma are doing incredible work to support residents in Fakenham, and I was so delighted to see how this work is making a real difference to those most in need.
"This appeal provides vital support and, given the challenges of the last two years, it is so important that we come together to help others across the county. Please do support the appeal and help make Christmas that bit easier for someone in need."
