King's Lynn trainers give donations the personal touch
Owners of the Barefoot Crew, a personal training company in Lynn have given the personal touch this year in their donations to a homeless charity.
A member who trains with the Barefoot Crew is volunteering for the Purfleet Trust this year.
Stephanie Harwood has been giving her time to the charity and in response the team and other members of the fitness group decided to make a donation.
The idea having been decided only a week ago was to collect food items that could be delivered and donated to the charity at Christmas.
Oli Bell, head trainer and founder of Barefoot Crew said: "Our client is volunteering at the shelter this year.
"Stephanie has trained really hard and to give her some recognition we decided to raise some awareness and donate.
"It was like a challenge to see how much we could raise.
"Food donations included long life pasta, chocolates, advent calendars, soup and useful things like toiletries.
With restrictions of Covid-19 affecting the personal training industry Oli and Reece Emsley, personal trainer, went online to continue delivering group exercise which has heightened their sense of community during the pandemic.
These sessions include yoga, nutrition and have all helped in the members' physical and mental well-being.
After emailing the members with their idea the response has been generous.
Oli said: "We want to thank all the amazing donations from our clients. Our community aspect has got really strong. Covid and the training has created a lot of strong bonds.
"That's been demonstrated with this team effort."
The food donations were delivered today and handed over to the Purfleet Trust in Lynn.
