Treasure was found near King's Lynn

A treasure trove inquest was opened this morning into a hoard of gold found near Lynn.

The hoard consisting of 131 early medieval gold coins and four gold objects was found by metal detectorists on April 1, 2014.

The opening of the inquest before area coroner Yvonne Blake in Norwich was adjourned until Wednesday, November 3 to decide how the value of the hoard is allocated.

She said that the exact place the hoard was discovered would not be divulged to protect it.
