Thousands of pounds were raised for the Swaffham and Litcham Home Hospice when the charity held its annual Tree of Lights evening.

The event, which was held at the Green Britain Centre last Monday, attracted an audience of more than 200.

The ceremony was opened by the hospice’s co-ordinator, Debbie Hanwell, before a dedication and prayers led by the Rev Timothy Lawes, vicar of the St Peter and St Paul Church.

Poems were read by Mrs Hanwell and team support advisor Sarah Leggatt, while the Phoenix Singers also performed.

The service closed with a speech from the hospice’s chairman, Dr Ian Haczewski.

The evening raised more than £5,500 and hospice officials thank everyone who contributed in memory of their own loved ones.
