Golden Tree Surgeons in West Norfolk are set to expand by recruiting more team members
A West Norfolk firm of tree surgeons is branching out by recruiting more team members as it has seen business flourish during the coronavirus pandemic.
Founded over a decade ago, Golden Tree Surgeons is no stranger to working through challenging times. The business was founded by arboriculturist Edward Benton in 2008 and almost immediately the UK headed into recession.
Twelve years later in the middle of the pandemic, the company now has eight team members and is expanding again.
Mr. Benton said: “It’s safe to say we’ve worked through some pretty interesting times over the years, but nature never stops, and trees tend to be a bit more predicable than people and economies.
"During lockdown we have continued to work both with our existing commercial clients and we have also seen a significant increase in domestic customers who understand the need to maintain the trees on their property, and this has enabled us to expand our team again.”
The company has invested in new equipment and are recruiting more team members dedicated to supporting those customers. The new equipment means there isn’t a need to take big machinery onto smaller jobs, making them more efficient and keeping costs down, benefitting the customer.
In addition to the arboriculture services the company also offers tree health and safety surveys, BS5837 surveys and wildlife surveys, which are growing in demand throughout Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
Mr. Benton said: "There’s a misconception that arboriculture is just about felling trees but there is a lot more to it than that. I’m really passionate about helping people see that it’s about cultivating and managing trees and hedgerows, ensuring they remain healthy for future generations and having care for the environment."
Golden Tree Surgeons has a growing network of clients throughout East Anglia, including the Sandringham and Barton Bendish estates.
The firm would like to hear from both experienced arboriculturists and students looking to work in the industry. It can be contacted on 01366 321253.
