Group use boats to sail across flooded Welney Wash Road
One group of people came up with an adventurous way of navigating a road which remains 40 inches under water.
River levels at Welney had fallen by 18cm in the 24 hours leading up to this morning - but the A1101 Welney Wash Road is still covered.
And over the weekend, three people were pictured rowing their way across the road in inflatable boats.
Steve Macey was among them, and shared photographs of his voyage with the Welney Flood Watch group.
This morning, a statement about the road from the group said: “It’s still not passable so continue to find another route.”
The flood watch group previously warned that flashing signs will most likely max out at 99cm when the road is under water, meaning it could be much deeper than shown.
Things could get worse as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in Norfolk until 10pm tonight.
Some flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely, and there could be damage to buildings and structures by lightning strikes.
