Rotary Club of King’s Lynn charity golf day at Middleton Hall raised £6,000
This year’s charity golf day organised by the Rotary Club of Lynn was held at Middleton Hall Golf Club.
It is the club’s main fundraising event of the year and it is hoped that some £6,000 has been raised to support local, national and international charities.
The Golf Day is organised by Steve Roberts and Geoff Cheney and this year saw 18 teams take part, with the winning team from Lynn Construction. The club is very grateful to all those local companies who sponsored the event.
In the last Rotary year, the club made donations totalling more than £13,000 to some 30 good causes, including Guide Dogs for the Blind, Shelterbox (following the earthquakes in Turkey and the floods in Pakistan,) The Royal British Legion, Kids Out, Baby Basics, Little Discoverers, Lynn Food Bank, Lynn Night Shelter, East Anglia Children’s Hospice, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Lynn Samaritans, Hunstanton RNLI, Bridge for Heroes, the Hope Foundation in Kolkata, Tapping House and Festival Too.
In addition a number of individual students were helped to fund special trips or activities and prizes for community service were awarded to sixth formers at both KES and Springwood.
