King's Lynn 'bomb scare' incident sees man arrested with suspicious package found at his home
Norfolk police have confirmed an incident in Lynn this morning, after residents spoke of a suspicious package and a man brandishing a knife.
A man was seen in the street with a saw making threats around 6am this morning, and a suspicious package was found after searching his home.
Police are currently on scene at Bentley Court off Fernlea Road, in Lynn.
Police said:"The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and was taken to Lynn Police Investigation Centre where he remains in custody.
"After searching his address officers discovered a suspicious package and around 20 nearby properties have been evacuated as a precaution."
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) have been called and are on scene to assess the package.
A small part of Winston Churchill Road has been closed as a result of the incident and officers remain on scene.
