Eight placings were won by the athletes with performances in preliminary and finalist rounds of the competition.

Nancy, Scarlette, Anne-Marie, Lillian and Grace all performed at the event with freestyle solos, artistic twirls and in pairs.

Charlotte Cornish, coach, Marquettes Baton Twirlers, said: “We are immensely proud of our athletes for doing their absolute best across two days of intense hard competition.

“Following a late-night trip home to west Norfolk, these amazing athletes were ready the next day to perform in the Downham Market Carnival.

“We are thankful for such hardworking and dedicated twirlers.”

The team is currently taking on new members and all enquiries can be sent to marquettes@outlook.com
