Two charged with murder of former King's Lynn man in Battersea
Two teenagers have been charged with murder, following the death of Iderval da Silva, who moved to London from Lynn earlier this year.
Mr da Silva, 46, died in hospital on Tuesday, May 28 after being found by officers with head injuries three days before.
His friend, Ricardo Ferreira, of Loke Road in King's Lynn, previously told the Lynn News that Mr da Silva had helped set up a project for children in the town.
London Metropolitan Police said Jaden Richards, 19, of Wandsworth, was charged with murder on Friday, May 31.
He appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
A 16-year-old boy who cannot be identified, also appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey in London tomorrow.
Another 16-year-old boy was arrested near to the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm on the day of the incident.
He has been bailed to return on a date in early June pending further enquiries.
Having been born in Brazil, Mr da Silva moved to Portugal before coming to King's Lynn two-years-ago to stay with his friend Mr Ferreira.
"He never caused any problems and was always positive, trying to put a smile on every single person's face," Mr Ferreira said.
Metropolitan Police said a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
