QD Furniture store in Swaffham closes down – with two jobs lost
Two jobs have been lost after a town furniture shop closed its doors last weekend.
The QD Furniture store in Swaffham, on Market Place, has shut for the final time.
It only opened in the town in 2021, with the chain selling the likes of budget furniture, homeware, office equipment and kitchen utensils.
However, the main QD Store will remain open.
QD group operations director Karl Ottolangui has said: “We have taken the decision to close the small QD Furniture store in Swaffham.
“However, the main QD store in the town is very much still open and continuing to trade.
“All the items that were sold from the furniture store are available to order for home delivery at our main store in London Street, as well as in many of our other stores and online.”
“Unfortunately, there have been two part-time roles that were made redundant as a result of the closure, which is always sad.
“However, we have recently been investing in high street locations, adding a number of new stores this year in locations such as Rayleigh in Essex and we are actively looking at new store openings in Norfolk and elsewhere for 2024.”
