Two men charged after policeman injured in incident outside King’s Lynn pub

Two men will appear in court later this month after a police officer was hurt in an incident in Lynn.

Stephen McCarthy, 38, of Sheerness, Kent, has been charged with assaulting a police officer and threatening behaviour in connection with an incident outside the Maids Head pub in Tuesday Market Place at around 11.45pm last Friday, police said today.

Thomas McCarthy, 19, also of Sheerness, has been charged with using threatening behaviour. A police spokesman said the injured officer was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Both men are due in court in Lynn on July 18.
