Two people are seriously ill in hospital after the car they were travelling in collided with a telegraph pole in a village near Fakenham yesterday evening.

The incident happened in West Barsham at around 6pm on Monday when a red Vauxhall Adam struck the pole before coming to rest in a ditch.

Both the driver and passenger were airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious internal injuries.

Police say they are currently in a critical, but stable, condition.

Anyone who saw what happened, or who saw the vehicle prior to the incident, is asked to contact PC Louise Manning, of the Swaffham roads policing unit, on 101.
