Two taken to hospital following crash in East Winch
Two people were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries, after a collision in East Winch yesterday morning.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene of the two-car crash on Walton Road at about 7.10am.
Police said the road was closed at the junction with the A47 following the collision involving a BMW and a Toyota.
Both drivers were taken to hospital – the BMW driver sustained serious injuries while the Toyota driver suffered minor injuries.
The vehicles were recovered and the road was re-opened at 10.40am.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance team said they were called to assist a man in his 20s who was injured in a collision near Narborough, just before 8am.
The helicopter was landed on a field next to the scene, and the medical team gave the patient a full assessment, administered advanced pain relief and treated and splinted an injury.
They then accompanied the patient to the QEH, by land ambulance, for further treatment.
