West Norfolk Council confirms Christmas bin collection times for areas around King's Lynn

Bin collections will continue over the festive period - but a number of "unavoidable" delays are expected.

West Norfolk Council has reminded residents that weekly food waste collections will continue each week over Christmas, while brown bin pick-ups will also proceed as normal.

However, there will be no collections on Boxing Day or Bank Holidays on Tuesday, December 27 and Monday, January 2.

Cllr Paul Kunes, the borough council cabinet member for the environment, said: “The festive period is the busiest time of the year for domestic waste and recycling and I ask that residents do what they can to support our collection crews.

"I ask people to plan ahead for how they manage their waste and recycling over the holiday season.

"With Bank Holidays falling on Monday and Tuesday after Christmas, along with another one after New Years Day, there are some unavoidable delays for collection rounds and I recommend that people check when their bins will be collected.

"Please remember that you can put additional recycling in any clear bag and put it out with your green recycling bin for collection."

Residents can keep up to date with bin collection dates at west-norfolk.gov.uk/yourbins

Excess waste can also be disposed of before Christmas by being taken to household waste recycling centres, with norfolk.gov.uk outlining opening times and locations.

To report that your bin has not been emptied, people can search for 'missed bin' at west-norfolk.gov.uk or call 0330 1099220.

This should be reported within two days of the collection being due and before midday on the second day.
