UPDATE: Man arrested following knifepoint robberies in King's Lynn and Downham Market

A man has been arrested in connection with two knifepoint robberies reported in King’s Lynn and Downham Market this morning (Thursday, January 10).

Police said a man in his 20s has been arrested in London following the incidents and will be brought back to Norfolk for questioning.

It comes after officers were called to JD Sports in Lynn High Street at about 9.55am after reports that a man had entered the store and threatened a female staff member with a knife before stealing trainers, gloves and clothing.

Shortly before 10.30am officers were called to Lynn Road in Downham after a man was robbed at knifepoint at a petrol station.

The victim’s car, a red Vauxhall Corsa, was stolen during the incident.

Police were searching for the vehicle and asked anyone who saw the car not to approach the driver and call police immediately.

No one was injured in either incident although victims and witnesses have been left shaken.
