Operator Great Northern says no trains will run between Downham and Ely for the rest of today, with a continuous bus service operating instead.

The company said the problem is on part of the single track section of the line, meaning trains cannot run in either direction.

Network Rail engineers are said to be heading to the scene to assess the damage.
