Police have today appealed for witnesses after a teenage cyclist suffered serious head injuries in a collision with a car on Friday.

Emergency crews were called to King’s Lynn Road at around 8.45am after a green Mini Cooper was in collision with the cyclist at the junction with Park Road and Downs Road.

The boy was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious head injuries. The road remained closed for more than four hours.

Police say they now want to hear from anyone who saw the crash or either the car or bike involved prior to it.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Michael Edwards, of the Swaffham roads policing unit, on 101.
