Bells rang out to celebrate a successful Harvest Fair Weekend at Denver’s St Mary’s parish church over the weekend.

The melodious chimes came from the ten-strong Denver St Mary’s Hand Bells, a group formed eighteen months ago who entertained visitors on Saturday.

The church was decorated colourfully with harvest arrangements. In between the displays stalls were packed with a range of stalls.

One that drew a lot of attention was the challenge of creating animals from fruit and vegetables.

The event was organised by Janet Lewis with a team of 20 helpers to raise money for the church and its bid to raise £14,000 to repair the belfry.

Rector, the Rev Judith Grundy said: “They do all the hard work. All I do is say thanks. I’m very grateful to everyone for organising the event to raise money for general funds.”
