Veterans Central hosts Christmas lunch at West Raynham headquarters
Forty veterans were treated to a delicious Christmas lunch thanks to a worthwhile initiative.
On December 10, Veterans Central hosted the event at its West Raynham SHQ building.
The event was enjoyed by veterans and partners, and included a full Christmas meal as well as a quiz, entertainment and a prize draw.
From a 99-year-old ex-lifeguard with great stories to share, to some who served from the 1960s until recent years, the company was fantastic and the day was a great success.
West Raynham SHQ, a building last used by the RAF in 1994, was decorated and festive, with the original internal Tannoy system playing Christmas music.
The event was supported by the RAF Benevolent Fund and a number of donors, which meant the event was totally free for attendees.
Veterans Central at West Raynham SHQ is open to military and emergency services veterans as a drop-in centre for hot drinks and cakes three days a week – Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, except the period from December 2 until January 5.
There is also a veterans’ breakfast on the second Saturday of each month.
SHQ is open as a drop-in centre from 10am-2pm during the winter months.
People can check on events and opening times on the group’s Facebook Page or by emailing info@veteranscentral.co.uk
