The King’s Lynn Roger Warnes Transport Stars continued their push towards the top of the Elite League table with a 53-40 victory over Swindon at the Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday night.
Rob Lyon’s men made a great start to the meeting and hit the visitors early on with a run of maximum race advantages.
At the end of the fifth race, Lynn held a 14 point lead with wins coming from Niels-Kristian Iversen, Kenneth Bjerre, Nicklas Porsing and Lewis Kerr.
Alun Rossiter’s Swindon hit back in the sixth with a tactical ride win from guest Dakota North with fellow stand-in rider Chris Harris picking up the final point in the heat to reduce the difference between the sides to 9 points.
That closed to 7 points when Nick Morris produced one of the rides of the night as he beat Iversen, while Grzegorz Zengota edged out Bjerre to score the Robins second heat advantage of the meeting.
Lynn flexed their power in heat 9 when Kerr and Robert Lambert teamed up well to give the Stars a 5-1, which put Lynn 11 points clear of the visitors. Further advantages came for the Stars in heats 11 and 13 to extend their lead to 17 points. That was reduced to 14 points however as the Robins pulled back a 5-1 in heat 14.
Both teams will meet tonight (Thursday) at the Abbey Stadium and Rob Lyon has kept his side unchanged for the fixture.
