VIDEO: Road re-opens after lorry collides with historic King’s Lynn pub

Have your say

Emergency crews have cleared the scene after a lorry collided with a historic Lynn pub earlier today.

The vehicle struck the corner of the Lattice House premises shortly before 5pm and blocked Chapel Street, close to the car park entrance and West Norfolk Council offices.

Police and fire crews were called to the scene, along with a recovery truck, which pulled the lorry away from the building.

One eyewitness reported that customers who wanted to order food were being advised to go to the nearby Globe Hotel while the area was cleared.

Minor damage was caused to both the pub, and the lorry, which was driven away after being freed.

The road was eventually re-opened shortly after 7pm.

It’s the second incident of its type to have happened in the town this year, after a bus collided with the corner of Camilo’s Bar, in Railway Road, in January.

The incident prompted calls for the northern exit of the bus station, which leads onto Railway Road, to be widened in order to avoid further collisions.
