Vigilance warning after jewellery and cash stolen in distraction burglary in East Rudham
Police are appealing for information following a distraction burglary in which jewellery and cash were stolen in East Rudham yesterday (Wednesday, March 20).
It happened between 8.30pm and 9.10pm at an address on Groveside.
The occupant, an elderly woman, discovered jewellery and cash were missing after two men visited her claiming to be from the water board.
Officers are reminding residents to be vigilant, and have said should someone call at your address requesting to carry out work, always ask for identification.
A genuine visitor will not mind waiting outside whilst you call someone to check their identity and confirm they have a genuine reason to be at your address, they added.
Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area between the times stated, or anyone with information, should contact Det Con Nichola Lane at King's Lynn CID on 101.
Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
