Shouldham village fete to be opened by celebrity
Shouldham's village fete is to have a celebrity opening next Saturday (August 14).
Tim Bentinck, best known for playing David Archer in the long-running Radio 4 soap The Archers will be leaving the fictional English village of Ambridge to make his guest appearance in the real village of Shouldham.
The official opening takes place at 1pm, ahead of an afternoon of fun from 12 until 5pm to celebrate the British summer.
This year’s event will feature a range of traditional entertainment and stalls, including, dog show, raffle, live music, tractor rides, coconut shy, bowl for a pig, horseshoe throwing, splat-the-rat, greasy pole over a water tank, guess the number of balloons in the land rover.
More games include tug-of-war, face painting, food and drink stalls and Reesey’s ice cream van will be on the green.
In addition there will be food and drink available from award-winning community pub, the King’s Arms.
