Chapel Road in Pott Row suffered a flash flood this afternoon after heavy rainfall.
The 3.30pm downpour followed weeks of scorching temperatures, with the UK officially in a drought.
Grimston resident Julie Smart, who took these photos, said: "The road was like a river, totally flooded after absolutely torrential rain.
"A lot of cars turned round and went back. There were also cars jumping up on to the pavement accidentally as they couldn’t see it as it was under water.
"The locals said they have never seen a flood in the village like it. The rain lasted about an hour."
There is now a Met Office yellow weather warning in place over the next few hours for thunderstorms and heavy rain in West Norfolk.
