Snettisham village school extension bid lodged
Proposals to build a new entrance lobby at a West Norfolk village school have been submitted to West Norfolk Council officials.
Both planning and listed building consent is being sought for the development at the Snettisham Primary School, which has already been backed by community leaders.
The application has been made by the West Norfolk Academies Trust, which runs 11 schools across the borough.
Documents submitted as part of the application to the borough council said the proposal would, if approved, "form a secure entrance area for visitors to the site to restrict access into the Main Building and surrounding site until permitted to do so by staff".
The new construction would be sited between the original school building and a previous extension for classrooms built in 2005.
Another paper published on the borough council's website showed the application has already been supported by the village's parish council.
Planning officials have indicated they aim to reach a decision on the application next month.
