Wages of more than 21,000 jobs supported in West Norfolk during coronavirus, government says
The government has said it has supported the wages of 21,500 jobs in West Norfolk during the pandemic after more than 15,000 jobs were furloughed in the area.
This was after the Chancellor announced the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) and Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) were part of a package of support measures for businesses affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
Businesses have furloughed 15,700 jobs in West Norfolk, up to May 31, since the CJRS was launched on April 20.
