Residents of three West Norfolk villages are being warned to be vigilant following a spate of attempted break-ins during the early hours of this morning.

Police say they are investigating nine incidents, which all happened overnight in the Marham, Narborough and Shouldham areas.

Two people were seen attempting to gain access to insecure buildings and vehicles.

Norfolk Police said tonight that extra officers will be patrolling the area over the next few days.

But they have also urged residents to ensure all their buildings and vehicles are locked and not to leave any valuable items on display.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, or who believes their property may have been tampered with, is asked to contact PC Sam Chaddock, at Downham police station, via the non-emergency 101 number.

Officers also want to hear from anyone who may have CCTV footage that could assist the investigation.
