A West Norfolk village would not be able to cope with plans for 24 new homes, community representatives have claimed.
West Norfolk councillors will examine the proposed development of land off Hythe Road, Methwold, during a meeting of the authority’s planning committee in Lynn on Monday.
But, while planning officers say the scheme should be approved, subject to the completion of legal contracts, parish councillors and residents have objected to the outline proposal, submitted by Clough Homes.
The parish council said: “Methwold does not have facilities and infrastructure in the area to support and maintain this amount of development.”
But the developers say the village has been identified as a local centre, which can accommodate development.
County education officials also reported that there is adequate capacity at the village’s two schools to cope with the demand generated by the proposal.
