Car park resurfaced at West Winch’s William Burt Centre

A village car park has been successfully resurfaced as part of a project to enhance visitors’ experience.

West Winch Parish Council has spoken of its delight at the completion of the scheme at the William Burt Centre.

Work began on November 6 following community feedback which called for improved parking facilities.

The project involved the removal of old asphalt, repairs of underlying surfaces, and the application of durable materials designed to withstand heavy use.

It is hoped that the new surface will improve safety and accessibility as well as enhance the aesthetics of the area.

Cllr Gavin Ball said: “Investing in our local area is vital for our community’s growth and accessibility.

“This resurfacing project reflects our commitment to improving local amenities and providing a safe, convenient space for parking.

“We appreciate the patience of our residents during this process and believe they will find the improvements well worth the wait.”

The project was funded through West Norfolk Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy.

West Winch councillors believe the newly-resurfaced car park will encourage more walkers to the area, as well as support “the economic vitality of the area”.
