Duration Brewery in West Acre to continue its online tours and tastings throughout the winter
A West Acre brewery is inviting more people to get together to share a drink and learn about its story with virtual tours and tastings which are set to continue throughout the winter.
Duration Brewing has been running monthly online tours regularly since April when full lockdown restrictions were in place. The next one on October 8 is available to book now.
Miranda Hudson, brewery co-founder along with husband Derek Bates, said: “Our online tours have become a wonderful way to be together while apart or to help those still shielding or localised lockdowns. The premise is that people order a tour box and get the beers delivered in time for the event when we all come together and look around the brewery and drink together.
“We essentially webcast the tour and use a question and answer chat to interact during the tutored tasting. Informal relaxed and great for those out there that can’t physically make it out to the brewery with beer we ship to your doorstep.
“We’ve had three generations of families come together from different parts of the country and they have made a great gift option.
“It was a saving grace for us while the pubs were closed to support online sales and build awareness of our new Norfolk brewhouse that is already a destination point on the craft beer aficionado’s circuit.
“People love meeting the founders and getting a personal tour from the comfort of home with beers delivered cold from our fridge to theirs.”
For the £25 online tour, which starts at 7.30pm, shoppers get four 440ml cans of fresh beer and a notebook delivered to their door in time for the tour and instructions on how to join the interactive event delivered to their inbox upon purchase.
They have a 60-minute experience including a tour around Duration's state-of-the-art brewery from Braukon in Germany before they sit down with the founders for a tutored tasting.
