West Norfolk companies among the rural award winners announced at Royal Norfolk Show

West Norfolk had several companies among the winners in this year's Norfolk Rural Business Awards.

The Pensthorpe Nature Reserve took the honours in the Best Rural Tourism Attraction category, with the Watatunga Wildlife Reserve runners-up.

The West Acre-based Folk in a Field were runners-up in the Best Rural Community Initiative, as were Massingham Stores & Post Office in the Best Rural Business.

Barsham Brewery was named runner-up in the Best Food and Drink Producer section.

The awards were launched last year by Norfolk County Council in partnership with the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (RNAA) to celebrate the achievements of rural businesses across the county.

The 2025 competition attracted 70 entries, with the nine category winners announced in a special event in the Long Acre marquee at the Royal Norfolk Show.

Fabian Eagle, Norfolk County Council's cabinet member for economic growth, said: "Businesses and individuals like these showcase the very best of Norfolk and play an important role in our rural communities and economy.

"They deserve public recognition for what they achieve and represent and that’s what these awards are all about."

RNAA managing director Mark Nicholas added: “Once again, these awards have highlighted the amazing things that people, businesses and organisations are doing in our rural areas. I would like to congratulate all our winners and runners-up."
