West Norfolk Council to set up homelessness and housing task group
A task group is set to be established to look at issues relating to homelessness and housing in West Norfolk.
The body’s formal terms of reference are set to be considered at a borough council committee meeting next week, after the idea of establishing the group was backed last month.
The new Homelessness and Housing Delivery body is expected to hold its first meeting before the end of September.
Papers published ahead of a meeting of the council’s environment and community panel next Tuesday, September 4, said the group will consider the authority’s own strategies for tackling homelessness in the light of new national guidance.
It will also look at the effect of newly commissioned services to support the homeless, as well as the use of discretionary housing to prevent homelessness, benefit issues and affordable housing provision.
