Following a review of the first year of West Norfolk Council’s Social Housing Allocations Policy, some minor changes have been made.
The Social Housing Allocations Policy sets out the conditions for entry onto the Housing Register and determines how priority is awarded to applicants.
From 1 October 2014, the qualifying period for establishment of a local connection is residence in the borough for at least three out of the last five years rather than residence in the borough for the last three years. Households will also be assessed as having a local connection if they have close family, i.e., parents, siblings or children who have lived in the Borough for at least five years.
Detailed information about the council’s Social Housing Allocations Policy is available at www.west-norfolk.gov.uk or by calling the council’s information centre on 01553 616200.
