West Norfolk housing provider launches new community fund
A West Norfolk social housing operator has launched its annual community fund for 2019.
Freebridge Community Housing is inviting applications to its community fund, which offers £5,000 of support for projects across West Norfolk.
Organisations can bid for grants of up to £1,000 from the scheme.
Successful applicants in 2018 included 4 Transform, Age UK Norfolk, the Hanseatic Union, the King’s Lynn Men’s Shed, Sing Your Heart Out, South West Norfolk Youth Opportunities Project and The Garage Trust Ltd.
The scheme aims to support projects that promote health and wellbeing, tackle inequality, offer local solutions to local needs, promote community cohesion, develop sustainable and supportive communities or improve the environment.
Robert Clarke, Freebridge's director of housing, said: "We are committed to supporting community groups and the work they do across our region.
"Through our fund we can provide financial help to projects and initiatives that are making a real difference to people’s lives and helping to support a better West Norfolk.”
Groups who are interested in applying for support from the fund should visit www.norfolkfoundation.com/funding-support/grants/groups/freebridge-community-housing-fund/, email jennybevan@norfolkfoundation.com or phone 01603 623958 for further details.
The closing date for applications is Friday, May 17. The bids will then be judged by a panel of Freebridge staff and members of the organisation's tenant panel.
