The latest fall in the number of people unemployed in West Norfolk has been welcome by Henry Bellingham MP.
He said the figures for his North West Norfolk constituency showed the number of people claiming jobseekers’ allowance is down to two per cent and the December figures was 52 lower from November.
This is 870 lower than in December 2013.
Mr Bellingham said: “This latest news is incredibly welcome.
“It is important to look behind the figures and see nearly 900 families who compared with a year ago now have a breadwinner and a hope for the future.
“The other good news is that the overwhelming majority of these jobs are full-time and secure. I would also like to pay tribute to all those businesses in our district which are now expanding and offering quality jobs to local people.”
